Community Quilts

Community Quilts encourages guild members to provide a community service by creating quilts for shelters, extended care facilities, victim services and individuals in time of crisis.

One weekend a year, the guild holds a community quilts workshop, but members are welcome to pick up and complete kits or contribute quilts year round.

CQ in 2011

Ever wonder what happens to all those quilts? Here's what happened to the 255 quilts contributed in 2011:

• 107 quilts to Japan
• 31 quilts to Evergreen House
• 6 quilts to the Lookout Shelter
• 29 quilts to the North Shore Crisis center (Sage House)
• 4 quilts to the LGH auxiliary for selling in the shop
• 5 quilts to the North Shore Hospice
• 6 quilts to the North Shore Women’s Center
• 58 quilts to the NICU at Lions Gate Hospital
• 9 quilts kept in reserve for emergency requests
